The Portland Observer, Thursday, October 31, 1912
Miss Emma Wolcott, of Danby, who has resided with her brother on the farm 
southeast of Frost’s corners for many years, died last Thursday afternoon and 
funeral services were held at the late home Sunday, Rev. Vreeland of the 
Baptist church, officiating.  Burial was in Portland cemetery.  

Miss Wolcott was born in Bradford, N.Y. 73 years ago, and in 1876 located with 
her brother on the farm where she died.  She had been ill for several weeks.
