H. WOLFORD Lloyd Herschell Wolford 78 passes away Wednesday morning at the Provincial House at Hastings where he had been a patient since April 21, following an extended illness and had been transferred from Butterworth Hospital, Grand Rapids. He was born July first, 1898 in Odessa township, the son of Samuel and Altha (Aldich) Wolford and had attended the Darby and Lake Odessa High Schools. He with his parents later moved to a farm on Darby Road and after his marriage to Mary A. Miller, May 6, 1950 they resided on the farm until moving to Lake Odessa. Mr. Wolford was a farmer and self employed bulldozer operator and was a livelong resident of the area. A live member of the IOOF Lodge he was also a member of the Clarksville Conservation Club. Surviving are his wife; three step-daughters, Mrs. Robert (Katherine) DeWitt of Taylor, Mrs. Robert (Crystal) Morrison Jr., of Varney, Kentucky and Mrs. Jerome (Ilene) Kropp of Tustin,Calif.; two step-sone, Cal Miller of Ionia and Lloyd Miller of Gran Rapids; 12 step-grand children; and nine step-great grand children. Funeral services were held Saturday at 1:30 at the Pickens-Koops Funeral Chapel. Rev. Richard Sessink officiated with burial in Lakeside cemetery.
