Excerpts from Greenville Obituary

MICHAEL WOLVERTON

Died Tuesday, May 19, 2026-age 65 of Sheridan at home, under care of his family 
& West Michigan Hospice.
Graduated from Ionia High School class of 1979.
Mike proudly served his country in the U.S. Marine Corp.His commitment to 
service, discipline & loyalty stayed with him throughout his life.
He loved working on a project, creating things with his own hands, the 
satisfaction of a job well done.
He was a loyal sports fan for University of Michigan & the Detroit Tigers, And 
NASCAR racing.
A long time member of the Carson City American Legion.
Survived by his wife, Rosemary Wolverton; his daughters, Caitlin Ferguson of 
Carson City, Marcy Ferguson of Lakeview, & Amanda White of Belding;his sons, 
Michael (Tiffany) Ferguson of Lansing,& Mark (Shanna) Ferguson of Mulliken; 13 
grandchildren & 10 great-grandchildren.
Also survived by his sister, Debra (Ken) Townsend of Sheridan, his brother, Dan 
Wolverton of Sheridan; his mother, Judy Wolverton of Sheridan; and his father, 
Irv. "Wolf" Wolverton of Cheyenne, Wyoming.
Also Mike's special friends, Randy & Michelle Neff, Denny Beardsley & Kirk 
Bussell.
Preceded in death by his grandparents,Russell "Bud" McConnell, Martha McConnell, 
Guy Wolverton & Fernie Wolverton.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to West Michigan Hospice 
for the care, support and kindness given to Mike & his family.

Visitation Wednesday, May 27th, from 10AM to 11AM, at Simpson Family Funeral 
Home (246 S. Main St. Sheridan,MI).Services beginning at 11AM.
