Wolverton, 83, Orange township, died in Bixby Hospital, Adrian, Saturday, April 8, after two weeks serious illness. She had spent the winter months in Adrian with her daughter, Mrs. O.T. Goodwin. Mrs. Wolverton was born December 30, 1866, in Fairplains township, Montcalm County. She attended Greenville High School and was one of a class of five to graduate in 1885. March 19, 1890, she was married to Elmer S. Wolverton of Orange and lived at the home farm on the Kelsey Road until her death. A member of LeValley Methodist Church she was deeply interested in the work of its various women’s organizations as well as civic and social affairs of the LeValley community. Surviving Mrs. Wolverton are a son and daughter, Lester Wolverton, Orange, and Mrs. O.T. Goodwin of Adrian. Also five grand children and nine great grand children. Mr. Wolverton and two grand children, Donald Goodwin, Adrian, and Katherine Wolverton, Ionia, preceded her in death. Donald Goodwin was killed in U.S. Service, April 8, 1945. Prayer service was held at one o’clock Tuesday afternoon and funeral service at LeValley Church at 1:30. Rev. W.B. Hunting officiated and burial was in Balcom Cemetery. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Hinds and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Weisgerber were in charge of the many beautiful floral tributes. Bearers were Robert Wolverton, Richard Wolverton, Ernest Brown and Edward Wickham.
