Perry J. (Pete) Womboldt, 78, of 3412 Olmstead Road, Ionia, died Wednesday 
morning at his residence.

He was born April 25, 1907, in Perry, the son of Roy and Anna Womboldt.  
Womboldt was a retired factory worker from REO Motors in Lansing.

He was married to Ruth Gillette in 1924.  She died in 1971.  He married Gladys 
Priest in 1971.

Survived by his wife, Gladys; two sons, James Schwab of Magnolia, Texas, and 
Gerrold Womboldt of Muir; two stepsons, John Devers of Fenwick and Richard 
Devers of Sheridan; four daughters, Gloria Wallace of Grand Rapids, Patricia 
Reser of Clarksville, Merry Pilbean of Deerfield and Joan Middaugh of Muir; one 
stepdaughter, Sharon Dukes of Saranac; two sisters, Maude Furman of Beaverton 
and Millie Munson of East Lansing; 42 grandchildren and 17 great-
grandchildren.  One son, one step-son and three brothers preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at the North Plains Community 
Church.  The Rev. Robert Ziebarth will officiate.  Burial will be in Balcom 
Cemetery.  Until 12:00 noon Saturday, the body will repose at the Hull Memorial 
Chapel in Muir.  A memorial has been established for the American Lung 
Association may be left.
