Gara “Mickey” Caine (Zander) Wood, age 88, of San Mateo, Fla., died peacefully 
Wed. Nov. 17, 2004, at her residence.

She was a native of Ionia, and had been a resident of San Mateo for a week, 
coming from Brandon, Fla. where she lived for the past 48 years.  She was a 
homemaker.  She enjoyed knitting and crafts.

She was preceded in death by her husband Herman Zander, three brothers, two 
sisters and one grandson.

Surviving are her husband of 48 years, Frank Wood of San Mateo, Fla.; two 
daughters and sons-in-law, Pam and Terry Henry of Lyons, and Barbara and Rick 
Dean of Brandon, Fla.; three sons and two daughters-in-law, David and Melba 
Zander of San Mateo, Fla., Jim Zander of Murray, Kentucky, and Bruce and Alice 
Zander of Cincinnati Ohio; 21 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.

Family viewing was held Nov. 19, 2004, at Masters Funeral Home of Palatka, 
Fla.  Memorial gifts may be made to the American Diabetes Association or 
Hospice.
