Leota Blanche Wood, 91, of 809 Atwater, Lyons, died Saturday.  Born Oct. 25,
1900 in Woodstock, New Brunswick, Canada, she was the daughter of Elsmore and
Katherine Montieth Robinson.  She was graduated from Woodstock High School and
attended nursing school in Claremont, N.H., and later nursed at Harper Hospital,
Detroit, The University of Michigan Hospital, Ann Arbor, and retired form Ionia
County Memorial Hospital in 1968.

She was married to Kenneth Wood in October 1929.  He died in December 1978.  She
was a 60-year member of Lyons Methodist Church, a member of Lyons-Muir
Historical Society, and a member of Golden Years Senior Citizens’ Club of Lyons
and Muir.

Surviving are a son, Ronald Wood of Wyoming; four grandchildren; and three great
grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Lyons United Methodist church,
with the Rev. Scott Otis officiating.  Burial will be in Lyons Cemetery. 
Visitors may call at Hull Memorial Chapel, Muir, until noon Tuesday.  A memorial
for the Lyons United Methodist Church has been established, in care of the
funeral home.
