The Ionia Standard, Friday, January 1, 1892

Leon, only child of Mr. and Mrs. O. S. Wood, died shortly after nine o’clock 
on Saturday evening, and was buried in Highland Park cemetery Monday morning.  
He was a bright little boy of ten years, and many friends will mourn with Mr. 
and Mrs. Wood in their severe affliction, as they do also with Mr. and Mrs. M. 
L. Smith in the loss of little Blanche.  The two children were wonderfully 
attached to each other, and were often seen together, and it is a singular 
coincidence that they should pass away so nearly together as they did.
