The Belding Banner, Thursday, March 4, 1909

Died, at her home in this city, on Sunday morning, Feb. 28, Lucy, beloved wife 
of Wilbur Wood, aged 27 years.

Mrs. Wood was as well as usual up to the hour of her death, which occurred 
about 8 o’clock, while she was engaged in getting their breakfast.  She had 
arisen as usual and combed her hair preparatory to going to church and had 
just begun the work of preparing the breakfast, when she was stricken with 
neuralgia of the heart and dropped into a chair nearby.  Mr. Wood heard her 
groaning and rushed to her relief, picking her up and laying her on a couch, 
where she passed away almost instantly.  The devoted husband and other 
relatives were almost prostrated at the suddenness of the summons and have the 
sympathy of all in their hour of sorrow.

The funeral was held at the Free Methodist church Tuesday afternoon, the 
services being conducted by Rev. J. E. Saunders, presiding elder of this 
district, and the remains were laid to rest in River Ridge cemetery.
