Father Of Portland Woman Passes Away Sunday At Ionia

George M. Wood, 83, of Ionia, passed away Sunday morning at the Ionia Rest Home 
where he had been a patient for 17 days.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Ruth Richards, of Portland; two sons, Harmon 
Wood, of Orleans and Melvin Helmes, of Ionia. There are six grandchildren a 
brother and four sisters.

Funeral was held Tuesday, and burial was in Easton cemetery. Mr. Wood had owned 
a farm and had worked for Ypsilanti Reed Furniture company. His wife, Cora, 
died last year.
