Ionia Sentinel-Standard - Tues. Feb. 17, 1987

IONIA- Shirley Cood Wood, 72, of 415 West Washington, Belding, died Sunday at 
United Memorial Hospital, Greenville.

She was born in Carson City, Sept. 30, 1914, the daughter of William and Gladys 
Hill Martin.

She was a member of the First Congregational Church of Belding and the Order of 
the Eastern Star.

He was married to Harold Coon; he died in 1979.

She was married on Aug. 29, 1986, in Carson City, to the Rev. Wilford Wood; he 
survives.

Also surviving are two daughters, Patsy Daller and Mrs. Gordon (Sally) Parker, 
both of Belding; three sons, Gary and David Coon of Belding and Michael Coon of 
Stanton; a stepson, Russell Wood of Petoskey and stepdaughter, Mrs. Gunther 
(Jean) Schulz of Kalkaska: 25 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. 

Other survivors include: three sisters, Mrs. Robert (Celia) Olsen of Sheridan, 
Mrs. William (Esther) McGlone of Punta Gorda, Fla.; and Ruth Ann Cornwell of 
Ithaca; and a brother, Leo Martin of Carson City. 

Funeral and committal services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday from the First 
Congregational Church, Belding, with the Rev. Kenneth Downing officiating.

Burial will be in the River Ridge Cemetery.

Friends may call after 7 p.m. Monday at Johnson Funeral Home, Belding.
