Music was furnished by Mr. Eugene Smith, organist and Mesdames Phelps and Benedict, vocalists. Rev. Robert B. Chapman spoke words of comfort choosing as his text, “Her sun is gone down while it is yet day.” The Bethany Circle of which Mrs. Wood was a member, and Mr. Woods class, the Berean Brotherhood, attended the service in a body. She was also a member of the church and spent many years of faithful service in Sunday school and Endeavor work. The large number of friends present and the profusion of flowers offered by them testified to the esteem in which she was held throughout the community. Mrs. Wood was formerly Miss Noeli Ferguson, oldest daughter of Dr. and Mrs. W.H. Ferguson. She confessed her Savior early in life and manifested His spirit always through her cheerful, sunny disposition. She was married to Oden Wood and a little daughter came to gladden their home but tarried but a few short months. Mrs. Wood, brave through shadow, patient through her long months of suffering, passed beyond the portals of this life Friday, Jan. 9th. Her life was short as measured by years but the true measurement of life is not by years but by Christian character. Interment was in Oak Hill cemetery File at: http://files.usgwarchives.net/mi/ionia/obits/w/wood25953nob.txt This file has been created by a form at http://www.genrecords.net/mifiles/ File size: 1.9 Kb
