Mrs. Ethel S. Wood, 85, of Easton Twp., Ionia died on Saturday, July 5, 1997 at 
Heartland Health Care, Ionia.  She was born Nov. 7,1911 in Easton Twp., Ionia 
Co., the daughter of Clyde and Bertha (Mason) Joslyn.  She was married to Elmer 
Wood and the couple were in the retail business for many years, before moving 
back to the Easton area.  She had been employed at Chrysler Trim Plant in Lyons 
for many years before retiring.

She is survived by one son, Michael J.Wood, Easton Twp.; six grandchildren, 
David Wood, Julie Alcala, Kathy Letts, Jim Wood, Mike Wood Jr. and Laurie Wood; 
three great grandchildren, Austin Alcala, Patrick Wood and Kendall Alcala; 
several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer 
Wood; 11 brothers and sisters.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Cook Funeral Home, 
Ionia with Rev. Lawrence Hodge of First United Methodist Church officiating.  
Interment will be in Easton Cemetery.  Visitation will be on Monday, July 7, 
1997 from 2-4 and 7-8:30 p.m. at the Rich St. Chapel of Cook Funeral Home.  
Memorial contributions may be made to Ionia Co. Memorial Hospital, envelopes 
are available at the funeral home.
