Loretta was born Sept.14, 1928, in Belding, the daughter of Otis and Edith Johnson Currie. She married Richard B. Wood on Dec. 6, 1947, in Belding. She graduated from Belding High School with the Class of 1946. Loretta was a member of Shiloh Community Church, the Eastern Star and many other organizations. She had worked as an administrative secretary at Washington School and Shiloh Community Church. Loretta’s family was her life and love. She will be greatly missed. Loretta was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Wendi Sue in 1950; sister Evelyn Nelson and nephew Craig Nelson in 1987. She is survived by Richard B. Wood; her children, Wendi and Gary Slosser of Belding, Denise and Buzz Angell of Pentwater, Sandy Feuerstein of Largo, Fla. and Greg and Beverly Wood of Portage; her grandchildren; Michelle, Eric, Shanda, Kevin, Jenny, Krissy, Steve, Bill, Debbi, Linda Jo, Jorah, and Noah; seven great-grandchildren; her brother and sister-in-law; Wayne and Lois Currie of Belding; her niece, Randi and Dave Price of Plainwell and her nephew Scott Currie of Greenville. Funeral services are 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Shiloh Community Church with Pastor Ken Harger officiating. Interment is in Pentwater Township Cemetery. Visitation is today from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Johnson-Feuerstein Funeral Home, Belding. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Shiloh Community Church or Ionia Area Hospice.
