MRS. PHYLINDA M. WOOD
Mrs. Phylinda Mae Wood, 92, died at Hawley convalescent home in Muir Tuesday at 8:20
p.m.. A resident of Matherton and Pewamo area for many years. Mrs. Wood was born 
October 15, 1870 at Ithaca and was married in 1885 to James Wood who preceded her in
death in 1937.

Mrs. Wood resided with her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Vance of
Pewamo from February 1935 to 1960 when they moved to Arizona for Mrs. Vance's health.

She was a member of United Brethren Church 45 years.

Surviving are one daughter, Mrs.Oscar Vance of Benson , Ariz; two grandchildren,
Philip Vance of Pewamo and Mrs. Clarissa Loomis of Ionia, eight great-grandchildren and
four great-great-grandchildren and one sister Mrs. Myrtle Smith of Battle Creek.

Funeral service will be at 10:30 Friday morning at Burns funeral home in Carson
City. Interment will be at East Plains cemetery.
