Ionia Sentinel-Thurs. March 1, 1888

Mrs. J. H. Kidd went to Detroit on Tuesday in response to a message informing her
that the infant son, sixteen-months-old, of her sister Mrs. Wood (nee Maggie McConnell) was
dead after an illness of only three or four days. It was decided to bring the remains to
Ionia for interment, and they arrived on the afternoon train yesterday, and were taken to
Highland Park cemetery  where  a few friends saw them laid at rest after a brief burial service by
Ref. A. M. Gould. Funeral services were had before leaving for Ionia, but the mother, crushed
by this sudden grief. was unable to leave her bed.
