Ionia Sentinel-Standard
Connie L. (Cahoon) Wood, 39, of 268 Orchard St., Saranac, died at her residence 
Thursday afternoon after a long illness.  Born in Saranac June 8, 1943, she was 
the daughter of Theron and Iva Rickert Cahoon.  She graduated from Saranac High 
School as valedictorian of her class in 1961, and with honors from Davenport 
College, Grand Rapids, in 1963.  She had worked as a medical secretary.  She was 
a member of the First Assembly of God, Grand Rapids.  She was married to Allen 
Wood on Oct. 15, 1962, in Grand Rapids.

She is survived by her husband; her mother, Iva Cahoon; two brothers, Richard of 
Saranac and Rex of Colorado; two sisters, Mrs. Hugh (Naurine) Sloane of Haslett 
and Mrs. James (Janice) Kelley of Saranac, and nieces and nephews.  Funeral 
services are incomplete, pending arrangements.  For information call, Lake 
Funeral Home, Saranac, 642-9464.  Burial will be in Saranac Cemetery.  A 
memorial of the family’s choice has been established in the care of the funeral 
home.  The family will be at the funeral home Friday from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 
8:30 pm.
