Many Years a Resident

Death of Mrs. Theo. Woodbridge in South Boston

Mrs. Theodore Woodbridge died at her home in Boston township, Ionia county, Feb.
1, 1908, aged 83 years, 6 months, 19 days, after a residence in that township of
55 years.  Funeral services were held at the house Feb. 4, conducted by Rev.
Henry Coles and burial took place in South Boston cemetery.  

Harriet A. Gilbert was born in Herkimer county, New York, July 12, 1824.  She
came from there to Michigan in 1853 and was united in marriage to Theodore
Woodbridge May 1, 1859.  He died Mar. 8, 1898.  They began housekeeping on the
farm where she has since resided and where death came to her Feb. 1, 1908.   

She had no children but for a number of years gave a home with a mother’s love
and care to a niece Carrie Gilbert and to Seymour Foster both of whom died a
number of years ago.  She was the last of her family of that generation but
leaves five nephews and one niece who with the many neighbors and friends of her
fifty-five years residence in South Boston mourn her loss.
