Ionia Sentinel Standard - March 31, 2011


Ruth Woodbury, 85, of Orleans passed away at her home March 30, 2011. She was 
born Aug. 31, 1925 in Bushnell Twp. The daughter of Fred and Eva (Hopkins) 
Minikey. She married Lee Woodbury July 8, 1944 in Ionia.

She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Lee Woodbury of Orleans; son 
Richard Woodbury of Pewamo; daughter Barbara (Buster) Valentine of Ionia; and 
brother Lyle (Norma) Minikey of Sheridan. Several grandchildren and great 
grandchildren also survive.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Don Minikey; sisters Opal 
Wilson, Dorothy Andrews and Helen Hagen; daughter-in-law, Gloria Woodbury; and 
grandson, Paul Woodbury. 

Ruth lived in Muir for the first 34 years of marriage, than moved to Orleans 
where she resided for the last 34 years. She worked for General Tire in Ionia 
for 30 years.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Woodbury will be held Friday, April 1, 2011 at 11 
a.m. with Pastor Greg Gladding officiating. Interment Oakwood Cemetery in Muir. 
Visitation will be at the Lake Funeral Home in Muir on Thursday 2 to 4 p.m. and 
6 to 8 p.m. Those wishing may make memorial contributions to American Cancer
