Woodbury, 91, died at the home at 1 o'clock Wednesday afternoon. She had been in ill health for several years. She was born in Portland township, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Maynard. Her father and Capt. E.M. Allen, founded the firm of Maynard & Allen, which is now known as the Maynard-Allen State bank. At 20 she married Arastus Woodbury who died in Sept., 1923. Mrs. Woodbury was a director of the Maynard-Allen State bank; a member of the Ladies Literary club and the Methodist church. Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the Neller Funeral Home, which is the home her grandfather, William Churchill, resided in many years ago. Miss Barbara Keilen has been Mrs. Woodbury's companion for many years and aided in her care during her long illness. Relatives include several cousins in Montana and Flint, besides Mrs. Frances Reynolds and Charles Sprout of Portland and Herbert Schafer of Portland; Richard Schafer of Detroit; Mrs. Ross Frantz, Rochester; Mrs. Ferd Esch, Lapeer; Mrs. Paul Smith, Pontiac are second cousins. Additional Comments: The Maynard-Woodbury home is located at 510 E. Bridge St in Portland, MI. Helen Maynard married Erastus (article spelled Arastus) Woodbury on January 16, 1878. Erastus was co-proprietor of the Churchill & Woodbury store on E. Bridge St. in Portland. Helen Churchill Maynard, the mother of Helen, was the daughter of Fidella Ramsey and William R. Churchill. The Churchill/Neller home is located at 210 E. Bridge St. in Portland. The Maynard-Allen State Bank is in 2016, the Huntington Bank. Frances Churchill Reynolds was long time librarian at the Carnegie Portland library.
