Wooden Sr., a well known resident of this vicinity, died at his farm home at Frost Corners early Saturday morning, after an illness of several months. He was born in Danby township, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Truman Wooden, and most of his lifetime had been spent in this vicinity. Funeral services were held at the home Monday afternoon, Rev. L. M. Rigelman officiating, and burial was on the family lot in Danby cemetery. Bearers were Roy Dawdy, A. Fred Klotz, William A. Young and Fred England. Surviving is the widow, whose maiden name was Lottie McCrumb, and two sons, Robert Wooden Jr., and Richard Wooden. There are two grandchildren, Richard Jr. and Margaret Wooden. Fred J. Mauren, of Portland, and Richard Hawley, of Ionia, as nephews of deceased. Among those who came from out of town to attend the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. James Wright, Mrs. Sylvester Smith, Detroit; Mrs. Roy Smith, Robert Goodnoaugh, Chesaning; Mr. and Mrs. Sares, Mr. and Mrs. John Cowell, Mrs. Hummel, Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Puffer, Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Cochran, Lansing; Mr. and Mrs. Richard Hawley, Ionia; Mr. and Mrs. Ed Howe, Eaton Rapids; Miss Lillian Easy, Battle Creek; Mr. and Mrs. D. L. Robins, Conway; Mr. and Mrs. W.O. Sprague, Haslett.
