Mrs. Susan E. Woodman, 87, died at her home in Ronald township Wednesday, 
September 13, at 8 a.m.  She had been bedridden since last January.

She was born September 1, 1863 in Berlin township, Ionia county.  She attended 
Eddy school and bi-county normal.  She taught school for one term in her home 
district.  On December 20, 1881, she married Emmet M. Woodman of Keene 
township.  Mrs. Woodman had been a member of the Methodist church for nearly 60 
years.

Surviving besides the husband are two sons, Grant of Palo and Lee at home; a 
daughter, Bessie, at home; two grandsons and two great grandsons.  Four other 
children died in infancy.

Funeral services were conducted by the Rev. Harold E. Homer of Hubbardston 
Saturday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock from the Stone Kauffman funeral home in 
Ionia.  Interment was in the Balcom cemetery south of Ionia.
