Michael Jay Wood Sr., 53, of Ionia passed away Sunday, April 29, 2001, in Ionia.

He was born Jan. 4, 1948 in Grand Rapids, the son of Elmer and Ethel (Joslyn) 
Wood. He worked for Frigidaire for 33 years before retiring in 2000. He enjoyed 
hunting, fishing and taking care of his dogs.

He is survived by his sons, David (Paula) Wood of Ionia, James (Colleen) Wood 
of Ionia and Michael (Andrea) Wood of Ionia: daughters, Julie (Rick) Alcala of 
Ionia, Kathy (Eric) Letts of Ionia and Laurie Wood and Kris Russo of Ionia; 
grandchildren, Austin and Kendall Alcala, Patrick and Lindsey Wood, Emily and 
Sarah Letts, and Taylor Wood.

Funeral services are 11 a.m., Wednesday at Lake Funeral Home in Ionia with Rev. 
Ben Ritter officiating. Interment Easton Cemetery. Visitation will be held 2 
p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., Tuesday at the funeral home.
