Mr. Woonacott was in his 75th year at the time of his death, which came after a number of years of poor health. He was born April 8, 1869, and was a native of Ohio, coming to this state in 1874. On June 30, 1898, he enlisted for service in the Spanish-American war and served until Mar. 31, 1899, when he was mustered out with an honorable discharge. He was a private member of Co. M, 35th Michigan infantry. The body was prepared for burial by Undertaker A.L. Cichy and then taken to the Michigan Soldiers Home at Grand Rapids where funeral services were held on Saturday and burial was in Soldiers Home cemetery.
