C. Worden passed away at 5:45 Tuesday afternoon, at the home 230 Lafayette street, after a prolonged illness which developed into heart trouble. Mrs. Worden was Effie Freeman before her marriage to L.C. Worden, which occurred in 1881, and the greater part of her life was spent in Ionia. Deceased was born in Alexander, Genesee county, New York, in February, 1854, and was a member of a family of six children, four of whom are still living: Mrs. Whitmeyer of Lansing, Perry Freeman of Lowell, A.O. Freeman of this city and Will Freeman of San Francisco. One child was born to Mr. and Mrs. Worden, but died in infancy. Deceased was a member of the Presbyterian church. The funeral was at 10:00 o’clock on Thursday from the home, with interment in Oak Hill.
