Murray Maxwell Workman, aged 90, of Ionia, passed away Jan. 25, 2010.

He was born May 19, 1919, in Essex, Ontario-Canada, the son of Inos and 
Florence (Lickman) Workman. Murray married Alma Crosby on Oct. 11, 1943 in 
Charleston, S.C. She preceded him in death Aug. 31, 2003. He was a veteran of 
WWII. Murray was a member of First United Methodist Church. 

Murray is survived by his children Mark S. Workman of Ionia, Melanie R. 
(Richard) Peabody of Harbor Springs, and Teresa C. (Carl Beach) Workman of 
Minneapolis, Minn.; 2 grandchildren, Scott Peabody and Nicole Stahl; one great-
grandchild, Anika Stahl; brothers, James (Vernal) Workman of Charlotte, Tom 
Workman of Williamston and Alfred (Fran) Workman of Pennsylvania; sister, Joan 
Himelick of California and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Memorial services will be held Friday, 11 a.m. at First United Methodist Church 
with Rev. Larry Brown officiating. In lieu of flowers you may make memorial 
contribution to First United Methodist Church or the Hall-Fowler Library.
