Gertrude A. Worthy, age 81, of Remus, died May 25, 2007 at a Big Rapids 
hospital.  Gertrude was born July 31, 1925 in Ionia, the daughter of Lemuel 
and Maple Hartman.  Gertrude married Ronald Worthy of Remus in 1949 and moved 
to Remus where she lived until her death.

Gertrude loved to tat, crochet, read and fish. She was active in church 
affairs in the Church of God in Barryton and the Glory Barn in Lakeview.

Surviving are 2 sons, James of Columbus, Ohio; Tom of Fort Wayne,  Ind., and a 
foster son, Edward Pitcher, of Cheboygan; 3 daughters, Bonita Bush of Remus, 
Kathleen Williams of Grand Rapids and Darlene Holsted of Greenville; 15 
grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren; one brother, John Hartman of Ionia.  
She was preceded in death by her husband Ronald and 2 grandchildren.

Funeral services were held May 29 in Remus. Interment was in Mount Hope 
Cemetery, Mecosta.
