Wortley, aged 81, of Lake Odessa, was called Home to her eternal rest on Friday evening, July 8, 2005. She was born in Clinton County on February 18, 1924 to Dewey and Marjorie (Monroe) Gosch. Helen was married to Roy J. Wortley on May 29, 1947. She had retired from the State of Michigan where she had worked as a secretary in the Elevator Safety and Boiler Division. Helen had faithfully attended and supported Lakewood United Methodist Church for many years. She had a great love for nature and animals. Helen is survived by her children, LeRoy (Lori) Wortley and Melvin (Monya) Wortley; grandchildren, Joe (Heather) Wortley, James Wortley, Trulana Wortley, and Audra Wortley; 3 great grandchildren; and sisters, Evelyn (Jon) Howard and Eunice Eckardt. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Roy Wortley; and brother, Donald Gosch. Visitation was Monday, July 11, 2005 at the Koops Funeral Chapel in Lake Odessa. The funeral service will be held at 4 p.m. today at the Lakewood United Methodist Church. Burial will be Woodland Memorial Park. The family has suggested that memorial contributions may be made to the Lakewood United Methodist Church or the American Heart Association.
