The Ionia Daily Sentinel-Standard, Thursday, November 18, 1943


Mrs. Maude Van Brooklyn Wortley, 60, died Wednesday afternoon at her home in 
Carlton after an illness of several months.  She had spent her entire life in 
that vicinity.

She is survived by her husband, William, two sons, Roy Wortley serving overseas 
and Ray Wortley of Wayland; one daughter, Mrs. George Schiably of Woodland; 
four grandchildren; her mother, Mrs. Tacy Van Brooklin, of Lake Odessa; two 
sisters, Miss Jennie Van Brooklin at home and Mrs. Verle Coates of California.

Funeral services will be held at 2 o’clock Friday afternoon at the Calvin 
United Brethren church, Lake Odessa, with burial in Lakeside cemetery.  Rev. 
Osgood of Woodland will officiate.
