Mrs. Audie E. Wortley, 79, died Friday night at Pennock hospital Hastings one 
hour after admittance.  She had been ill for some time and a patient at a 
nursing home near Hastings for two and a half years.

Born September 16, 1888 in Woodland township, the daughter of Charles and Adah 
Dillenbeck Laird, she was a lifelong resident of Woodland township and Lake 
Odessa area and member of Central Methodist church.  

Her husband, Charles Eckardt, died June 1943 and in April 1945 she was married 
to William Worley who survives.  She leaves, besides her husband, three 
stepsons, Ray Wortley of Denver, Colo., Roy Wortley of Lake Odessa and Gailen 
Wortley of East Lansing; 11 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Monday at 3 p.m. at Pickens funeral Chapel in Lake 
Odessa with burial in Lakeside cemetery.
