Mrs. Clara Wortman, 59, died at the Belding city hospital Tuesday evening after 
suffering a heart attack earlier in the day.  Mrs. Wortman was born April 20, 
1892 at Saginaw and was the daughter of Philip and Catherine Fischer.  On April 
7, 1921 she married George Wortman of Belding and they were co-owners of a 
ladies' ready-to-wear shop at Belding at the time of her death.

She was a member of the Eastern Star and also of the American legion 
auxiliary.  Her husband is a World War I veteran and is one of the original 
members of the Ionia County Draft Board.  Surviving besides the husband are two 
sisters, Mrs. Ed Beuthin of Saginaw and Mrs. Charles Bennett of Belding.

Funeral services will be held at the Fitzjohn Funeral Home in Belding Friday 
afternoon at 2 o'clock with the Rev. H. S. Ellis of Belding officiating.  
Interment will be at Greens cemetery in Orleans township.
