Belding Banner – Thursday, 11 February 1909

Allen S. Wright died of heart disease Monday in Ionia, at the age of 68 
years.  Mr. Wright has for many years been prominent in business and social 
circles in Ionia and was for many years a leading dry goods merchant.  For 25 
years he had been secretary of the Ionia school board and was the oldest 
member of that body.  He was a prominent mason and had been for many years a 
member of the local lodge.  Prior to the merger of the Ionia County Savings 
Bank and the State Savings Bank, he was cashier of the first named 
institution, and was formerly interested in the Ionia Wagon Company.  He is 
survived by his widow and by one son, Grove A. Wright, a resident of Detroit.
