His death was the result of complications related to a brain aneurysm suffered on April 30. Jerry was born on March 18, 1964 in Lansing, to Nick Wright, Sr., and Eve (Noss) Wright. Jerry grew up in Lake Odessa, and attended Lakewood Schools, graduated in 1982. He was a lifelong member of Zion Lutheran Church of Woodland. He served in the United States Army at Fort Hood, Texas; and in the Michigan Army National Guard from 1983 to 1991. Jerry was an equipment operator for HSV Redi-Mix in Lake Odessa, and most recently a driver for Van Eerden Foodservice in Grand Rapids. His hobbies included NASCAR, bowling, and golfing. For the past five years he has volunteered at the BMW Golf Classic in Greenville, SC. Jerry was precededin death by his father Nick Wright, Sr.; and his grandparents, mary Jane Noss; and Chuch and Esther Wright. He is survived by many loving family and friends; daughter, Amanda of Knoxville, TN; son, Josh of Lake Odessa; daughter Jeralynn of Gaylord. Also surviving him are granddaughters, Kendall and Aubrey; niece, Valerie; a nephew Sam; nephew Isaiah; and niece Teresa. In accordance with his kind and generous spirit, organ and tissue donations were made so that others may receive the “gift of life” in the midst of his tragic and very unexpected passing. Contributions in Jerry’s memory may be made to Anheuser-Busch towards their “no beer left behind” campaign. (Note: a loving joke in the spirit of a life-loving man from his friends and family. He would not want his obituary to be completely serious!) A memorial service will be held at Zion Lutheran Church in Woodland on Saturday, May 21, 2011, at noon, followed by a luncheon.
