He was born May 20, 1909 in Ionia, the son of Earl and Maggie Gleason Wright. He attended Ionia High School and owned and operated the Nifty Sandwich Shop on Depot Street until 1947. He then went to work as a truck driver for Oldsmobile in Lansing, retiring in 1970. He was married Sept. 28, 1937 to Margaret Ruth Scheid, who preceded him in death in 1973. Prior to her death the couple had lived in Lansing but traveled extensively. He was a member of the Lansing Moose Lodge No. 288. Survivors include two sons, James of Aurora, Colo., and Robert of Lansing; one daughter, Janet Malelich of Lansing; one sister, Mrs. Ruth Cook of Mesa, Ariz.; and 11 grandchildren. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. from the Leddick Funeral Home, with the Rev. Ron Dow of the First Christian Church officiating. Burial will be in Highland Park Cemetery. A memorial fund has been established for the Ingham County Extended Care Facility, in care of the funeral home.
