                          Darlene Daye Wright

Darlene Daye Wright, 62, of Ionia, passed away Sunday, Oct. 10, 2010 at her home 
with her family at her side.

Funeral services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Ithaca Chapel, 1333 
E.Center St., Ithaca at 11 a.m. Thursday Oct. 14, 2010. Pastor Jason Seamans 
will officiate. Burial will take place at Ithaca Cemetery in Ithaca.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, OCt.12, 2010 and on Wednesday, 
Oct.13 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Darlene was born in Mt.Pleasant, on Jan.13, 1948, the daughter of Gerald and 
Shirley(Arnold) Clark. She graduated from Ithaca High School with the class of 
1966. Darlene married Richard Duerr on Aug. 6, 1966. He passed away March 1, 
1986. She then married Kenneth wright on Jan. 26, 1991.

Darlene resided most her life in the Ithaca area.She had resided in Ionia for 
the past 17 years.She owned and operated Teddy Bear Daycare in Ionia for 13 
years. Prior to that, Darlene was a hearing and vision technician for the Mid 
Michigan District Health Department. Darlene loved her flower gardens, camping, 
and traveling.Her passion was taking care of and shaping the lives of children 
at her daycare.The very most important thing to her was spending time with her 
family.

She is survived by her husband Kenneth Wright of Ionia; son Darren and Jodi 
(Thompson) Duerr of Middleton; daughter (Duerr) and Corey Ferguson of Stanton; 
mother Shirley Clark of St.Louis,Mich.; step-children Jerry and Jill Wright of 
Middletown,Ohio, Jenny and Phil Ozment of Merrill, Adam Wright of Ionia; three 
grandchildren; Cara Wagner, Morgan and Mason Ferguson; step-grandchildren, 
Chelsea Wright, Brenton, Britni, AJ and Caiden Wright, Jessica, Shelby and Kayla 
Ozment; and a brother Greg and Laura Clark of Alma.

She was preceded in death by hr father, and her first husband, Richard.
