November 15, 2025 Excerpts from Greenville Obituary SHIRLEY MAY WRIGHT Died Wednesday November 12, 2025-age 93 peacefully. Born at home on December 8, 1931 in Garrett, Indiana to Ford & Ruth Grimm. Graduated from Butler Hig School in 1949 in 1950 she met & married Charles A.Wright, a Navy man, & lived in Bayonne, New Jersey until 1952, then moved to Belding, MI. Shirley lived her 93 years full of energy & creativity.She was called GG'ma by her 44 great grandchildren. She was married to Charles for 72 years before his passing on January 31, 2023. Survived by five children; Teresa (Preston) Cole of Mancelona, George(Sheila) Wright of Belding, Carol(Jim) Carpenter of Greenville, Jack (Deb) wright of Belding, Charles (Kim) Wright of Avon Park, Florida, 16 grandchildren, 44 great- grandchildren & on great-great grandchild. Also survived by her sister Ellen (Ralph) Baughman, brothers John (Marilyn) Grimm, Jim Grimm, sister-in-law, Janet Teets, brother-in-law, Jm (Connie) Wright, Bill (Teresa) Wright & many nieces & nephews & friends. Preceded in death by husband, Charles, parents, brothers, Dale & Allen Grimm, brothers-in-law John Wright, Donald Souder & Voyle Teets, sisters-in-law, Barbara Grimm, Kay Grimm, & Nancy Wright. She was a homemaker, sewing & knitting, canning & freezing fruits & vegetables.She mad her 2 daughter's wedding dresses. She was a 4-H leader for many years.She worked in school for 11 years as a teacher's aide, then as Activity Diretor at the then Belding Christian Nursing Home for 15 years. After retirement she & Church traveled around the country & spent Winters in Sebring, Fla. She loved to read, play dominos, quilt, take walks, take part in family reunions. Her family will pass on her legacy of love, grateful attitude & commitment to others. Her home-going celebration will be held at Johnson-Feuerstein Funeral Home on November 21, at 11 am.
