Wright, 90, of Belding, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2002, after a long illness. Roger was involved in many community activities. He was an avid bowler and started the junior bowling programs in Greenville and Belding, with which he worked for over 20 years. During his lifetime, Roger worked at Murray Corporation, Federal Mogul, Doubleday Brothers, Gibson and Consumers Power. He ministered at the Disciples of Christ Christian Church, Muir, for 26 years. He and his wife, Mildred, were counselors at the Disciples of Christ Christian Church Camp, Frankfort, for several years. Roger also enjoyed gardening, watching baseball and football and car travel throughout Michigan. He was preceded in death by his son, Orlo; and his grandmother, Karen Gee. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Mildred Cottrell Wright; three children, Iloann and Joe Gee of Ionia, Paul of Grand Rapids and Jonathan and Joanne of Cedar Springs; his grandchildren, Mary and Bill Burns IV of Belding, Kevin and Jodi Gee of Grand Rapids, Beverly Gee and friend Patrick Slager of Belding; two step stepgrandchildren, Mike Fly of Stanton, Joshua and Michelle Fly of Wayland; his great-grandchildren, Billy Burns V of Belding, Wyatt Gee of Grand Rapids, Caleb Slager of Belding; two stepgreat-grandchildren, Alexandriea and Marie Fly of Carson City; and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at First Congregational Church, Belding, with the Rev. Dr. Dick Woodward officiating. Graveside commitment will follow at Riverside Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Johnson-Feuerstein Funeral Home, Belding. Memorials may be made to the First Congregational Church organ fund.
