He broke down in November last, and has been gradually failing since. He was born in Germany, but had been a resident of Ionia county for half a century. He was a man of more than usual native ability. With little chance for schooling in childhood, he still mastered the essentials for a business life, and filled different positions of public trust with credit, serving several years as supervisor of Easton and also of Ionia township. He was thoroughly honest and exact in all his dealings. His age was 73, He was twice married, first to Mrs. Emily Armstrong, by whom he had one daughter, Mary, who was married to Henry Robertson, and who died six years ago. Mr. Wurster was married to Mrs. Caroline Hoover, six years ago, who survives. George Wurster was the eldest of a family of five children, of whom only two survive: Jacob, and Christine, wife of John Koch, both of this city.
