She was a patient there about six weeks. A native of Antrim County, she was the daughter of Frank an Anna (Haller) Hesley and a graduate of the Elk Rapids High School. She continued her education at Ypsilanti State Normal where she received her Life Certificate and her degree at Western Michigan Teachers College at Kalamazoo and also graduate work at Michigan State University, East Lansing. She came to Lake Odessa in 1913 and was employed in the local school system as a sixth grade and math teacher for several years, later she accepted the position as a math teacher in high school and also served as principal, retiring in 1946 she was a substitute math teacher after her retirement, In the local school. Mrs. Yager was a member of the Congregational Church, Women's Fellowship of the church, the Ionia-Montcalm Retired Teacher's Association, lake Odessa Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star, and was a committee woman for the Republican party for several years. Her first marriage was to Merlin Morgan, who passed away, January 25, 1943. She later married Clarence Yager, who passed away in 1961. Surviving are a step-daughter, Mrs. Robert (Elaine) Broderick of Birmingham; a nephew Arlington Corey of Crystal Falls; two nieces, Mrs. Eleanor Robinson of Grand Haven and Mrs. Juanita Burdick of Coloma and a cousin Mrs. (Irene) Hughes of Louisville, Ky. Funeral services were held Tuesday at 1:30 at the Pickens Funeral Chapel. Rev. Arthur Ruder officiated with burial in lakeside cemetery.
