Sept. 5, 1933 Henry Yeiter Henry Yeiter, 70, of 301 Harter street, died at his home Monday night. Funeral services will be conducted at the home by Rev. A. T. Luther Thursday at 1 o'clock and at the Mennonite church, south of Elmdale, at 2:30. Burial will be in the Mennonite cemetery near the church. Mr. Yeiter was of German ancestory. His parents Mr. and Mrs. Fred Yeiter, were natives of the old country but came to Michigan and ranked among the pioneer farmers of the Lowell vicinity. He followed the vocation of his father and lived for a time after first marriage to Miss Sue Livingston near Lowell and then went to Mt. Pleasant where for 28 years he continued as a tiller of the soil. After the death of his first wife 20 years ago he went to Grand Rapids and lived there until his marriage seven years ago to Mrs. Catherine Parks, of Ionia, when he came to Ionia and had resided here since. He had been ill for three years with cancer and had been in bed for one year and four days. Surviving are the widow; a son, Orlo, of Grand Rapids; a daughter, Mrs. George VanderMeer, Grand Rapids; a stepson, Otis Schrock, of Riverdale; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Forest Beemer, of Detroit; two brothers, Charles, of South Lowell, and David, of Owosso; eight grandchildren and one step-grandson.
