Doris was born on Oct. 28, 1923 in Cadillac, the daughter of George W. and Edith Violet (Roberts) Brigham. She was raised in the Cadillac and Grand Rapids areas and attended the Cadillac area schools. As a homemaker, Doris enjoyed playing bingo, working crossword puzzles and volunteering as a foster grandparent. She loved old movies, especially with Chuck Norris starring in them. Willie Nelson was her favorite country music artist. Doris was a member of the Belding VFW and the New Hope Church of God in Belding. Doris is survived by her children, Edith (Jerry) Reed of Fenwick, Mary Alice Wood of Crystal, Robin Jayne (Hank) Bailey of Belding and Joseph Elroy (Debra) Clifford of Greenville; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and five great-great grandchildren; a sister, Donna Martin of Greenville; two brothers, Dan (Yvonne) Brigham and Larry (Judy) Brigham of Stanton; two-step-brothers, Bill Mansfield of Florida and Jack Mansfield of Grand Rapids; and several nieces and nephews. Doris was preceded in death by two husbands, Orval Galen Clifford and Carl Yeomans, Jr.; her parents, George and Edith; a daughter, Virginia Brigham; a brother, George; a sister, Shirley Jones; and two step-brothers, Dick and Julius Mansfield. A funeral service to celebrate Doris’ life has been scheduled for 1 p.m., Saturday, at 1 p.m. at the New Hope Church of God, 9840 Belding Rd., Belding, with Pastor Kelly Munger officiating. The family will receive the love and support from friends at a visitation scheduled for 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday (2 hours prior to the service), also at the church. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made payable to Brigham Funeral Chapel to assist the family with expenses.
