Ionia Sentinel Standard, 25 Jul 1987

Walter J. Yeomans, 89, of 3370 N. State Road, Ionia, died Friday, July 24, 1987,
at Ionia County Memorial Hospital.  He was born Jan. 30, 1898, in Ionia, the son
of Byron and Fanning McCarty Yeomans.  He attended Ionia Public Schools and
Michigan State University.  He was married to Lucille M. Keefer March 25, 1926,
in Portland Township.  He was a farmer in the Ionia area for 49 years, was a
member of the Farm Bureau and the Banner Grange.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Alfreda Bennett.  Survivors include his
wife, Lucile M. Yeomans, two daughters, Arlene M. Horrocks and Doris Hanulcik,
both of Ionia, nine grandchildren, one great-grandson, one brother, Roy G.
Yeomans, of Brewton, Ala.

Friends and family may call Sunday from 7-9 p.m. at the Montgomery Funeral Home
Rich Street chapel.  Funeral services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at the
funeral home.  Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
