Mr. Yeomans was admitted to the hospital at 12 a.m. Monday. He was born on a farm in Orleans township, April 7, 1882 and was the son of Willard S. and Clara Gott Yeomans. A farmer, Mr. Yeomans was a patient at the Ionia Manor since March of 1965 and was a patient at Bide-A-Wee convalescent home in Belding one year previous. Mr. Yeomans’ grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Erastus Yeomans were one of the six families to settle in Ionia along with Samuel Dexter in 1833. He attended First Baptist church and is survived by a niece, Mrs. Don Braman of Ionia and four cousins, Gerald Yeomans, E. S. Yeomans Jr., and Mrs. Laura Youngs of Ionia and Gus Gott of Orleans. The family will be at the funeral home Tuesday evening from 7 until 9 o’clock. Rev. Lowell Young will officiate and interment will be in the family lot at Highland Park cemetery. Subsequent Publication: Friday, January 13, 1967 Rev. Lowell Young officiated at funeral services for Maurice Yeomans, Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. Friends and relatives form out of town attending were Mr. and Mrs. James Hansen and Mr. and Mrs. Miles Hansen of rural Edmore; Charles Selleck and Mrs. Helen Kenny of rural Fenwick; Mr. and Mrs. Ray Peterson, Belding; Mr. and Mrs. Fredrick Higley of Lyons; Mr. and Mrs. Walter Hunt, R.F.D. Merriett; Mr. and Mrs. A. W. Gott, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Bennett and son, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Leach, Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Heppe, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Heppe, Mr. and Mrs. Art Clifford, Mr. L. B. Hull, Mrs. Anne Manley and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Pierson all of rural Orleans. Bearers were Leland Hicks, Lee Harrington, Ovett Harrington, Robert Bennett, Steven Kenter Jr., and Steven Hartman. Interment was at Highland Park cemetery.
