Reed, Friday November 5, at 6:30 o'clock p.m., age 84 years. The deceased moved to this city from her farm near Big Raids, twenty-three years ago, making her home with her daughter, Mrs. Reed. She was a most excellent woman - quiet, unassuming and home loving. The funeral service was held at the home Monday at ten o'clock, Rev. A.J. Blair, pastor of the Congregational church, giving a brief sermon, after which the remains were borne to the cemetery by her sons and grandson, and place by the side of those of her husband in the lot which she had selected. Miss Sarah Thomas was born in Seneca county, New York, September 22, 1831, and was married to Wm. L. Yost at Fayette, N.Y., in 1845, removing to Michigan soon after their marriage, and in 1884 they moved to the farm near Grand Rapids. Six children were born to them, five of whom are living - Wm. Yost of St. Louis, Edward Yost of Detroit, Mrs. John H. Wright of Morley, Chester Yost of Denver and Mrs. W.B. Reed of Belding. One daughter, Mrs. Wm. C. Sheldon, died in Sant Anna, Calif., three years ago, and her remains were brought here for burial.
