In the year 1852 she came with her parents to Ionia, where she resided until 12 years of age, when they moved to Sebewa, where she passed her school days and young womanhood. She was united in marriage to Mr. John A. Young April 26, 1877, who brought her to the beautiful home on the hill side where she has since lived, beloved by all who knew her. Two sons and two daughters came to bless her home, two of whom, with her husband preceded her to the “better land.” For many years she has been a consistent member of the M.E. church and an active member of the ladies’ aid until enfeebled by disease, she relinquished her work, but continued to give liberally of her substance; after many years of suffering she was released and passed to be with Jesus April 11, 1914. This is but a brief outline of the history of this Christian woman, so modest and unassuming, the personification of gentleness and patience. Only the record that is kept in the “Lamb’s Book of Like” by the unerring hand of God, can reveal the devotion of her mother love, to her family, and her loyalty to the afflicted one of her household, who scarcely a year ago, passed from death unto life. The influence of her quiet, gentle spirit, rests upon us today, as upon her beloved children namely Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Greenhoe and son, Mr. and Mrs. Herbert W. Young and children, one brother and two sisters also survive her, beside many friends and neighbors, who sadly miss one so good and true. “Blessed are the dead, which die in the Lord from henceforth; yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours, and their works do follow them.” File at: http://files.usgwarchives.net/mi/ionia/obits/y/young11790nob.txt This file has been created by a form at http://www.genrecords.net/mifiles/ File size: 2.3 Kb
