Young, where she had been visiting since before the holidays. Her death was caused by pneumonia after an illness of but a few hours. Her maiden name was Katherine Dickson and she was born in Buffalo, N.Y., 61 years ago. Ffter the death of Mr. Young the family moved to Grand Rapids and from that city to Portland 23 years ago. For the past few years Mrs. Young had spent much of her time with her daughters in Lansing and Grand Ledge. She was of a sunny, cheerful disposition and endeared herself to all who made her acquaintance. Her sudden death proved a keen shock to all her friends. Mrs. Young is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Will Stocum, of Grand Ledge, Mrs. Chase Newman, of Lansing, Mrs. Grace Newman, of Grand Ledge, and one son, William H. Young, of Portland. After the funeral services Monday afternoon at the son’s home here Mrs. Young’s remains were taken to Buffalo to be laid to rest beside those of her husband. Rev. John H. Stewart, of the Baptist church, officiated at the last rites, Mrs. Young having been a member of that church for many years.
