Young died suddenly of heart failure at his home in Danby, aged 65 years. He had been troubled with heart disease for a long time and been confined to the bed a couple of weeks before death, but he was not considered any worse than he had been, but he passed away within the space of a minute. He was a native of New York state but came to Portland 35 years ago from Jackson county, Michigan, and resided here until ten years ago, when he moved to Danby and engaged in farming. At Jackson in ?? he enlisted in Co. D. First Mich. Inf., and served about two years when he was discharged on account of bad wound in leg. He was a ?? and a member of John Megarah Post of Portland. Besides the widow he is survived by 4 children, Mrs. James Wainwright of Danby, Mrs. Freeman Adams, Will and Ben Young of Portland. Funeral services will be conducted from Grange hall in Danby on Wednesday at 10 o’clock.
