Young, 68, who passed away at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Frank Richmond, in Smyrna, Thursday morning April 16. Mr. Young had been spending the winter with his sons in Lansing and had come for Easter with his daughter and family. Death was attributed to heart trouble. The deceased was born in Berlin township and moved to Saranac when a lad with his parents and attended school there. He was married in Saranac and his wife preceded him in death while the family lived in that village. He later moved with his children to Lansing and with his son, Clyde, came to Smyrna and purchased a farm in 1918. For several years Mr. Young had been overseer of highways in Otisco township and made a large circle of friends. He was a former member of the Saranac Baptist church. Rev. H. S. Ellis of this city preached the funeral sermon and burial was in the Saranac cemetery. Survivors are two daughters and three sons: Mrs. George Gill. St. Johns; Mrs. Frank Richmond, Smyrna; Clyde, Alan and Carl, all of Lansing; two sisters, Mrs. Lida Kyser of Lowell and Mrs. Walter Trumbull of Saranac.
