The Ionia Standard, Friday, March 2, 1890


Peter Young, who entered the Soldiers home from Berlin, May 6, 1887, died in 
that institution on Sunday.  He entered the service Aug. 6th, 1861, enlisting 
in Co. B., Sixteenth Michigan infantry, from which he was discharged Sept. 7, 
1864.  He re-enlisted in Co. C, Nineteenth United States infantry at once and 
served until the expiration of his term of service in 1867.
