JOHN W., JR.): THE DAILY SENTINEL-STANDARD, Ionia, MI, ca.11-6-1935: "Mrs. Sarah Adelaid Youngs - Mrs. Sarah A. Youngs, 63, died at her home in Berlin township Tuesday morning, November 5, at 9:15 o'clock following an illness of the past two years. She was born July 12, 1872 in Noble County, Ind., to Mr. and Mrs. Elias Whitmore and united in marriage in 1888 to Rev. John W. Youngs. Survivors are the husband and one son Ray who is living at the home in Berlin, four grandchildren, Mrs. Lucille Anderson of Lansing, Williard, Phillip and Donald Youngs of Ionia and one great-grandchild, Helen Anderson, of Lansing. Funeral services will be held at the home in Berlin Thursday afternoon at 1:45 and at 2:30 at the IHA mission of which she was a member with interment at the family lot in the Balcom cemetery." Youngs were held at the home in Berlin Thursday afternoon at 1:45 and at 2:30 at the IHA mission, of which she was a member, with Rev. John Lowman, of Cedar Springs officiating and Rev. Earl Ritenburgh, of Muskegon, and Rev. M. L. Lowman, of Ionia, assisting. In accordance with a request made by Mrs. Young prior to her death, music was provided by Rev. and Mrs. Boone, of Grand Rapids, by a quartette, composed of Earl Ritenburg, of Muskegon, Peter Gallagher and Emery Vermilyea, of Ionia, and Glenn Coon, of Mason and the bearers were Ray Youngs, Joseph Beeman, Frank Ritenburgh, Burt McClellan, Otis Bailey, George Bills. This was the largest funeral ever held at the IHA mission. Those attending from out of town were Mr. and Mrs. Anderson of Lansing, Mr. and Mrs. Whittmore of Portland; Rev. and Mrs. John Lowman, of Cedar Springs; Rev. and Mrs. Boone, of Grand Rapids; Rev. and Mrs. Earl Ritenburgh, of Muskegon, Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Coon of Mason and Mr. Chilson, of Indiana. Interment was at the family lot in Balcom cemetery."
